Any comments ... guys?

I've also seen set ups where the original coil packs bolted together, the attachment part to the plugs removed, and hotwires used instead. The coil units are then attached to firewall like pictur in above.

Thats a waste spark setup. Similar to what the old Buick Grand Nationals ran.

Many different ways to skin a cat. Thats one way. Seems to work for some people.

People go round and round on ignition.

Yeah many ways to skin a cat, but wasted spark is like trying to skin a cat with a dull knife. Coil charge time is diminished because the coil has the fire twice per cycle. If coil charge time is diminished then so is the strength of your spark. Then to add the resistance of spark plug wires probably isn't the best thing to do either.

Same deal....spark plug wires have electrical resistance. Electrical resistance drops current. Dropping current equals weaker spark. That's why that SUN auto remote mount coil with their Hot Inazuma spark plug wires was such a joke to me a couple years back.

The only time when it's good to run remote mount coils is when you are running a hotter coil remotely because it has no way of bolting on to your valve cover. I'm not sure what kind of coils are on that DSG S13, but those guys seem to know what they're doing so my guess is that they are using hotter coils.

No one I know has had any luck with the Splitfire coils for GT-R's.

I know for a fact that the split fire coils for the SR20 produce a significantly WEAKER spark than the factory coils. I've never done an true A/B test on the RB26 though. I have had to run tighter spark plug gaps one the several cars that came in with the split fires though.
