| Q45 and 03/04 M45 Infiniti's flagship since the very beginning. Muscular V8 engines powering the rear wheels of this luxury sedan. Grand touring at it's finest. |

Ok not really, but according to the magazine, the picture is of the next generation Nissan President/Cima/Q45 with 5.0L V8 and six speed sequential gearbox.

I really hope that they give it different looking headlights/taillights than the G and M, they already look too similar

I actually bet it is working. How many people have traded in their 03 G to purchase an 06 M?

Hmmmm......too Chrysler 300ish.
Makes the F50 look lithe and racy by comparison.

resembles the current Q too much, which isn't selling now. I would think they would try to do something drastically different from what is currently the trend.

I find that it looks a lot like the outgoing Lexus LS430 model but with an Infiniti badge.
In all fairness, I honestly don't think that even a 6-speed auto belongs in this class of vehicle; especially since MB has a 7-speed auto and the next Lexus LS will have the world's first 8-speed auto. |

I see old Cima, 06 G35 Sedan, and Altima all contributing to the design. I think they need to work on something fresher to influence the next generations of G's and M's, not taking cues from the current G's and M's for the new Q.

I don't know about the look, but yesterday a salesman told me that the next Q will have a base price of $80K. That doesn't make good business sense to me.

Well if i were ceo of infiniti, i would build a lil bit off of the looks of the M and G like they did, but not too much to where it can actually be compared to the looks of the rest of the fleet... DEFINITELY build off of customer opinions.
I would want my flagship to be a neck breaker... one of those cars like... "What the *$#@ is that?!?!?!!? (but not the way people think when the see a pontiac aztec ... but more like a car that is so breathtaking and exclusive that those are the first words that come to mind, and makes little kids on the street fight over who called it theirs first.) Aggressive, yet mellow. Executive, yet sporty. Subtle looking, but a beastly sleeper. (Cant stress This enough...) Goobs of torque and power, has to be a worthy PERFORMER..!!!! No false claims of 0-60 in 5.9s or a laggy 340hp (dont hate me... just being real.) Its gotta be a car that people are like "oh that car... 0-60 in 5.5s on a bad day." 6 Speed tranny?!?!?! they can do better than that. Also gonna need waaaaaay more leg and head room... a few of the plush interior features from the Nissan President would be something to build on. Superb suspension... no looseness in steering or suspension... tight but relaxing on otherwise unstable road conditions with excellent cornering with little to no body roll. And some type other technological advances (car-puter, real-time navigation... something!!!) to compete with lexus' "Parking For Dummies/Idiots/Unskilled/JUST PLAIN LAZY" car. (LS460 that is) And all of this with a EXCELLENT price tag. (Maybe somewhere around $59k base and $71k premium. (at least until it becomes a class leader in every aspect then bump the price up a few notches) I love my current Q... but i am tired of seeing the underdog get smashed in sales and preference by a few sub-par luxo sedans and their owners. just my 2 cents.

I have seen almost nothing in these Japanese car mags which accurately previews the real thing. That looks like more speculative tripe to me.

Photoshopped Bentley Arnage... where did the journalist/artist recieve their styling info? Nice to see the speculative buzz alive none the less!
Must have ingredients fueling the NextQ: 7series biz, Masserati Quattroporte abilities and big Inifinti balls that produced a FX.

I think the idea that they'll go in a different direction in terms of looks is correct. Look what happened with the previous-gen M45 - it bombed at the dealers in the USA so they went with a bigger, more elegant G35 sedan approach and have a hit on their hands.
The new Q will have a similar approach - take the size up a notch and keep the lines flagship clean. That's my guess anyway. - Riff

I'm with Riff...they are going to take the styling cues of the M and bump it up a notch. Brand identity was missing with Infiniti and now that have it...plus distant styling that is recognizable.
