It's interesting......looks nice and is a change. I'm really liking the front but the back needs to grow on me a lil bit more. I do like it though. I'm w/Tried though......a side view will bring it all together .

Great find, thanks for sharing........ .

1. Nice looking car. Just not nice enough or distanced enough from other Nissan vehicles.
2. Seriously let down as it realistically looks like a car version of the new FX. I wanted the Maxima to be it's 'own' car. From the center stack, to the grill (& opening), and the body lines from that rear shot all look like the new FX to me (which by the way also let me down).
3. Not ranting, just saying that I've liked the last 2 gen's better and had way too high expectations of this car which it did not meet.

NOW THAT'S A MAXIMA!!! GREAT JOB NISSAN!!!

I have all the guys at work here Oooo'ing and Ahhhh'ing!!! LoL!

Tried, you are tha man! Those doors look extremely BMW 7 series-ish. I have to be honest, this car made my eyes water. After all these years of waiting for THEE Maxima, here it is. I am happy, and I love it!

I can't wait to trade up in a couple of years. It looks a helluva refined and reliable. It has strong Infiniti looks to it too. A lot of the guys from work thought it looked like a big Infiniti G.

I am impressed! The dual exhaust is fabulous with big openings, and LOOK! NO HANGING PIPES! The car looks to have great ground clearance in this aspect of it.

The interior is what I expected and thank God Nissan engineers removed that "motorcycle inspired" 3 gauge instrument cluster. I always loved it when the tachometer, and speedometer were together in one cluster anyway. The car now has the emergency brake at the foot well. I much rather prefer it to be a hand brake behind the shift selector but it's a small price to pay for this car's stunning good looks and poise. This car reminds me so much of my prior Infiniti I35 for some reason. I guess it is because this new Maxima looks as solid as the I35 was.

Push button start? Oh hell yes!

Awesome job, just awesome!

Now we wait for performance numbers to add the icing on this luscious cake.

its at least original looking for now until Nissan incorporates this look into its line up like usual...its interesting thats for sure, I'll have to reserve final judgment when i see it in person.

I do think it will look much better when dropped a bit.

Sorry, but I totally agree with you.

Also, the dash design with all the controls doesn't seem very sophisticated to me. But thats just my opinion.

Now this is what would have been sophisticated.

Even the interior of the 2007-08 Maxima w/o navi seemed more sophisticated to me.

From the front, it seems to have taken some cues from the Infiniti M.

From the rear, it looks a lot like the new Altima with different tail lights.

My first thoughts......

WOW!

This baby doesn't even look like it's a Nissan level model. Very Infiniti like in many aspects. Great work Nissan! Now surprise us tomorrow by announcing AWD and/or a manual on this puppy and then sit back and watch it sell!

Well, so much for the car having high beam xenons. That is one feature I absolutely love on my 2008 Maxima.

The rear end just screams out Intima concept to me, so I wonder why some people told us that the 2009 Maxima wouldn't share certain cues from it.

The hood and headlights look pratically identical to the 2007 Infiniti G35 but with a little twist. I do see what might possibly be the first North American Nissan car with daytime running lights. I guess bi-level xenons are going to be an Infiniti only feature. I already spotted a black little clitoris in the trunk of the car that is without a doubt a backup camera lens.

As I blow up the picture of the car's interior in my browser I can swear that I see a small button above the gear selector that reads, "snow" but I am probably just seeing things.

I also see a possibility of this car having heated & cooled front seats so that looks good too.

I love the ground clearance & exhaust pipes on it. I thought I would miss a quad exhaust but I actually don't. The exterior design of the car is very busy and keeps your eyes moving to a lot of other parts on it. The car does look like it was fused with a G35, Altima and Dodge Charger.

However, Nissan did remove the body side moldings on the doors that the 6th gen Maxima used to have standard, so this car is going to be ding and dent heaven around where I live.

This new 2009 Maxima is definitely going to look very sharp in blue, white, red, and black. I am just tired of silver as I already had one car and currently own another with a silver exterior color.

This car is definitely going to finally get kudos for the rear windshield. It has very good viewing room from what I see in the pictures. I love how much of a great sedan this car now looks like. The rear windshield does remind me a bit of the 1998 Maxima I used to own. Ahh! Memories!

The huge gaps in the wheel wells also make the car look very "capable", as in Subaru kind of capable so, we shall see what Nissan totally has in store for us Maxima enthusiasts tomorrow.

Can someone with a hi-rez monitor and software zoom in on those buttons. Maybe there is an AWD switch to be seen.

If it has the same setup as the 2009 Murano then the AWD lock button is to the left of the steering wheel.

The front end reminds me of the JDM Stagea:

Otherwise, it's a nice step up from the Altima. It will be interesting to see if the specs match the aggressiveness of the design.

I officially love the new Maxima LOOKS! The interior is amazing. I still have strong reservations against CVT but we'll see. I love the looks though.

The camo threw us off good.

Why would there be any similarities? The Intima Concept was released at the Tokyo Autoshow (to get the Japanese market excited).

Overall, I think the maturing of the car is great. Can it finally get some respect for having an Avalon level interior or better? The front 3/4 view gives it the look of a stretched coupe around the rear which is nice. The character line reminds me of the new A5 and I like that the front looks a little more squared off.

To those whining about the center stack looking borrowed from other Nissan/Infiniti's: You should know by now that volume cars don't get stand alone center stacks, and that design language permeates the line for uniformity.

Still it looks unique enough to be seen as such.

Yes, I see the paddle shifters. I also see a button above the gear shift
selector for what appears to be either a button for a power sunshade
of some sort or snow mode. I also see a strong resemblance of this 2009 Maxima's
steering wheel to the new Nissan GT-R's steering wheel.

If you turn the red part of the Intima concept's tail lights the other way then you can see the similarity. This is the only similarity that I see, and that is the rear tail lights.

Now that I see it, the back of the 2009 Maxima kind of looks like a Toyota Yaris rear in some aspects.

The looks fits in with new Nissan products as a few had mentioned. The hood and front end remind me of the G37 coupe. The rear does look like Altima w/ different tail lights. The dash looks old, not sporty enough, should have more aluminum to match the steering wheel.

I have to see it in person, maybe different color combo.

I really like it though. The car just looks "finished" and very high class. The side view is great. Tried, you really did a great job on the doors bro. I mean, I know that this was an inside thing or whatever but the doors are truly awesome. They look so well sculpted.

Maybe your mind is drawing comparisons because both cars were introduced in such close proximity of each other. The EX clearly looks like a raised G35. I don't see a Maxima/FX resemblence at all here.

Even in the pic's you posted of the M45, the Maxima does not look like the M in front. The lights are different and the Maxima is squared off. The M is rounded off.

I see a bit of a camry and maybe even a rounded off I35. Direclty from the front I even see the sides resembling a G37. I don't see a FX or the front of the M though.

I think it's a "power rear-sunshade" button and not a snow mode button. The steering wheel reminds me more of the new Infiniti FX.

looking at this Maxima, it lost some weight and performance could look better too.
last few(2 0r 3) generations, the power went up and the weight also went up

Yes, the Max is squared while the M is rounded off. I was referring to the shape of the hoods.

1. Both the hoods are flat, unlike the 04-08 Max.
2. Towards the sides, the body goes up in a ridge-like shape which is typical of the Infiniti M. I really like that.
3. The front grill bears some resemblance to that of M but looks almost exactly like the JDM Stagea, as 2K2MaximaSErious pointed out.

Snow mode could just be a 1st gear lockout and maybe a change to the vdc....
Anyway, when do these go on sale?????

Look @ the first set of pics.....Tried you feel like chiming in? Once again I do state that this car is attractive, but not impressive to ME(I know everybody is like what is he smoking? But my opinon is my opinon.) due to too many vehicles in their line up looking the same now. FX/EX/new Z/G's/ & now the Max. Please God let the new Q, if it ever happens, have an original interior (excuse me, center stack).
