Some vehicles with computer nav, radio, cd, and climate control integrated systems have a hidden menu, for more options. BMW for example. You have to depress a button with a special key/ignition combination to gain access to hidden menus. Anyone aware of such a feature in the 2002 Q?

Yes, turn off the short menus, and then turn them on. Look for the check box. If you play around you will see the extra options.

I tried this (playing with the short menu setting and switching it on and off) and didn't see anything out of the ordinary (aside from a help option that just lists some info). Am I missing something? Thanks.

Same here, I didn't see any extra options either. Perhaps we're doing something wrong. I was hoping that I'd be able to get to extra radio settings - my AM / FM reception seems overboosted and "crackles" at times. I wanted to lower the output. It's not the volume that's too loud - CDs play very well and the system pumps. However, the radio sound quality isn't where it should be.

To access the 2002 Infiniti Q45’s (w/ navigation system) “hidden” menus:
1. Turn car on. 2. Turn radio off. 3. Depress and hold the [INFO] button and roll the audio ring-dial back and fourth 8 to 10 times. This will give you access to the hidden menus. Fool with it at your own risk |

AGAIN, TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU CAN CAUSE CALIBRATIONS TO BE CHANGED INCORRECTLY!!
Those displays are truly impressive. I don't know how you found that (and probably don't want to know). BTW, the audio ring rocking only took 4-6 turns on my 02 Q45. For those who haven't tried it, you end up with a new screen that has two menu choices. The first is a self diagnostic routine, the second is calibration display and is much more interesting. Under the calibration display there are a number of submenus for each of the body systems. WARNING - you really can change the calibration of the body components (including GPS and rear view monitor distance lines) if you are not careful. Do not make changes without understanding what changes you are making. Also the audio test produces very loud tones out of each speaker. I haven't tried this yet, but I think with the service displays it may be possible to drive with the rear view monitor on. Again, WARNING WARNING WARNING, this may or may not be allowable where you drive. Now if someone can find out how to get to the engine parameters, it would be just like a very updated version of my 1989 Olds Trofeo's Visual Information Center (VIC). Thanks again!! Andy |

Is there any equivalent for the G35 Nav system? I tried toggling the volume button while depressing INFO to no avail.
